I am a California girl, born and raised, who moved to New York City in 2004 for law school. I landed an associate position at a top litigation firm prosecuting multi-million dollar actions against some of the biggest companies in the world. In 2009, when the U.S. market tanked, and with it, my job, I decided to pursue a sweeter life and started Big City Little Sweets.
What I create is special and unique and not for the mass market. When I envision my customer, I imagine someone like me. I am health conscious and I take care of the way I look, but I also like to indulge in sweets (in moderation, of course!). It is not enough that a dessert simply tastes good. In order for me to indulge in a sweet treat, it must be beautifully presented and enticing. With that in mind, I create each dessert to satisfy the most discerning palette.
So, say au revoir to the super-sized, super-sweet desserts of yesteryear! From cupcakes to French macarons, we bake everything from scratch using the finest ingredients, and whenever possible, we purchase local and organic ingredients.
Who really wants one huge slice of the same cake? An assortment of bite-sized desserts allows flexibility for people to taste one, two, or three little desserts instead of the same thing. It is great for the dessert lover who prefers slivers of every dessert or the health-conscious who likes just a few bites!
